Sharing Our Voices

Greetings WIN community,

"Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs."

-Stephen Covey

The 2018 Wyoming Legislature Budget Session convenes

with the Joint Session of the Legislature and the Governor's State of the State address February 12 at 10 a.m. As we move toward the 64th Legislature, this week's quote is from the late Stephen Covey, who said, "Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs."

WIN is a member of the Equality State Policy Center (ESPC), along with fellow members, in a broad-based coalition on social justice, conservation, and labor groups. ESPC  empowers us to find our voices and inspire others "by advocating in all levels of governmentincreasing civic engagement both inside and outside of governmental processes, and holding our elected officials accountable to the decisions they make across Wyoming" (ESPC website, 2018).

Each year, ESPC holds SHAPE WY,  its Grassroots Lobbyist Training to

empower everyday Wyomingites to influence the legislative process on behalf of their community by providing them the tools and resources to be effective. SHAPE WY will be held:

February 19, 2018

8:00 am to 4:30 pm

at the LCCC Center for Conferences & Institutes

1400 E College Dr

Cheyenne, WY 82007

For more information about SHAPE WY or to register, go here.

In addition, if you're interested in learning more about using your voice and inspiring others to find theirs as a WIN member, please contact me. Membership is based on a commitment to come together with others, putting aside our differences, to advance our mission. Three teams work to implement WIN's mission through education and advocacy. The three teams are Spiritual Life Team, On Sacred Ground Team, and Peace & Justice Team.

Fear not. Be bold. Build bridges. Do justice.

In Peace and Gratitude,

Susie Markus
